Even just two years ago the idea of online rating by users of services and medications were feared and heavily opposed.  Fear and opposition however, do not stop online development.  Here Mashable inform on a user rating system now applying to medication. 

It raises questions around psychiatry - whether your view is pro or anti. 

I’m more fundamentally interested in the potential for what happens next.  Is this a ‘real’ way in which we - the consumer will have equal power as pharmaceuticals? Is it possible that we could become the drivers for medication development?  Will funding be impacted in anyway by public opinion voiced online?

Interestingly as I scour the pharma related blogs I know I’m increasingly finding people going to ground and a quietening….
