E-Learning has been around for a while.
But there has been a recent explosion and Academic Earth is an example of this.
I’m fascinated by the short and long term impact that free learning will have on society.
The Government’s recognition of the need for a Digital Inclusion Strategy is the knowledge that the workplace over the next few years will increasingly require it’s workers to be able to navigate not only IT but the changing world of web 2.0 and whatever web3.0 forms itself to be.
If we accept that the way information now flows has changed from a hierachal top down approach. How will we evidence our self directed, free online learning? Will exams and the pieces of paper that relate to them become obselete?
I have so many questions about this I can’t tell you. To me it’s very exciting.
And with the recent Government push on ‘Back to Work’ for those will mental ill health will this be a relevant way that individuals can add to a tool box for a pathway to a sustainable work life - confidence gained from online learning without fear of debt?
Or does my idealism know no bounds?
